CDigital successfully delivered the procurement, installation, and commissioning of state-of-the-art Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) to FATA Water Resources Development Project (FWRDP) across key locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Implemented under the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU), Planning & Development Department, this turnkey solution featured the integration of dataloggers, solar panels, and a wide array of high-precision sensors—including wind speed and direction, air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, solar radiation, snow level, and soil moisture sensors. The deployment also included provisioning of laptops, desktops, and comprehensive training and support services to ensure sustainable system operation.
This technologically advanced network of AWS now serves as a critical tool for climate and hydrological monitoring across the region. The system empowers stakeholders with real-time weather data, enabling accurate forecasting, better water resource planning, and enhanced disaster preparedness—particularly in flood-prone and agriculturally sensitive areas. By facilitating data-driven decision-making, this project strengthens the province’s resilience to climate variability, supports sustainable agricultural development, and contributes to the long-term management of natural resources in one of Pakistan’s most environmentally sensitive regions.
